  1. You nailed it. THIS is what no one talks about. Since 2016, I have had to say goodbye to numerous people I thought were my friends. An American (though I seldom admit that these days) black woman in an inter-racial relationship who lives abroad, I found the misogyny, xenophobia and trickle-down racism from the White House appalling. And when people I thought I knew well, people I’d known for 15+ years began to espouse the same hateful rhetoric, it made me wonder if I’d ever known them at all – if they’d ever really loved ME at all, or had I only been admitted to their lives so they could say “I can’t be racist – I have a black friend.” I used to love to talk to strangers; hearing their stories and learning about the commonalities we shared that made us human and connected. I don’t strike up conversations with strangers anymore.

  2. TRUMP….The Shame of a once great Nation, so very sad the world looks at America as nothing but an empty shell!
