Fairport Convention “Sir Patrick Spens”

THE HOBBLEDEHOY prefers Swarb’s lead vocal on this song to Sandy’s. What say you?

  1. 100% prefer Swarb’s vocals. I got into Fairport from House Full (live album recorded at the Troubador in LA, after Sandy Denny left) that I borrowed from the library in about 1991 and so assumed Swarb and Richard Thompson were the standard vocalists and particularly enjoyed Swarb’s vocals (he was good enough to have been in the band just as a vocalist, not a vocalist-fiddler, and he was obviously a great fiddler)
